lincoln's entire godly discovery had been a chaotic scene, between putting his family in danger and realizing that his mom, having been separated from their dad for a few years before slowly reconciling, had a whirlwind romance, not with Just Some Guy but a freaking god. freaking jupiter. on top of everything, he had gone through the trials of entering camp jupiter only to be placed in the least-liked section of it.
it's not something a starting lacrosse player is accustomed to.
but even so, lincoln earnestly does his best in everything. they might not be first-string romans, but they did just win a competition that allowed his cohort to participate in the two-week-long exchange program with the greeks. and, well, he can't complain about that, willing to admit his excitement on the journey across the country.
wren's buzzing at his side, her light protective armor clanking about as she bounds next to him, the two of them leading the charge. sometimes he doubts her mars heritage given how excited she is to meet new camp halfblood boys.
there's a bit too much pomp and circumstance for his taste when they're welcomed by the staff and campers, with wren instantly nabbing a bowl of fresh strawberries. most of it's a blur to him and he's all too relieved when it's over and they're allowed to socialize. he remembers a few folks from the last time they had to fight side by side, not the best with names but better with faces.
he takes a small strawberry lemonade and waves at whoever he can see. )
