( a few of the others have gotten up to dance, leaving the two of them plus some stragglers still seated in their private area. finn feels a little bad for keeping yuri from joining them, but he still follows the suggestion to try his drink. carefully, so carefully, he picks up the yuzu cocktail and brings it to his lips, giving it a tentative sip.

( with the drink on the table, he presses his hands to his knees, brushing off the condensation from the drinks. )

yuri looks back over to the crowd, his eyes rolling heavenward when he spies neon and jasper acting as though they aren't surrounded by people, and he looks back over to finn again with a serene smile. ]

[ he pauses, gnawing on his bottom lip for a moment, before he slides his hand underneath one of finn's palms in order to take a light hold of his hand. ]
Oh. Thank you, ( finn replies warmly, eyes as fond as his voice sounds, leaning forward to take another sip of his drink and keeping it in his hand. ) That's very nice.
( can he take this drink with him to the dance floor? he seems to analyze it, glancing between the glass and the dance floor, before spotting a few couples carrying their drinks out. there are his friends bopping around too, though bren seems to be talking more than dancing. the music is light and fun, not too sweaty and heavy. he had been promised that the place wasn't that brand of intense and way more his speed. )

[ yuri reaches for his own drink and-- promptly knocks the entire rest of the glass back in one go, because he doesn't want to leave it behind and exposed but he also doesn't feel like taking it out onto the dance floor with him. he's had one too many accidents in the past trying to balance dancing and a drink to risk it in front of finn.
he pushes up to his feet and pulls finn up along with him, sending a wink in bren and ry's direction as he tugs finn out onto the floor with him. yuri turns around when he has them in the spot he wants, somewhere toward the edge of the crowd without being completely outside of it, and he smiles as he raises his arms up to loosely drape them around finn's neck. ]

( as for him, well. he worries his bottom lip between his teeth, ever thoughtful. ) I still watch cartoons. Sometimes I collect the figurines, but not as much as I used to when I was younger. Before, also, Jisoo and I would skip classes sometimes to just go on adventures and see where the buses would end. Things like that. I like exploring a lot. I also like feeding the stray animals in my neighborhood, too. I can't talk to them, but I think they like me quite a bit.

[ he pats finn's shoulder and turns around slowly in his hold, but he doesn't go anywhere. instead, he lifts one arm up and back so that he can rest his hand on the back of finn's neck for support as his hips start their movements. they settle into a slow sway side to side as he maintains eye contact with the man at the bar, briefly, before he closes his eyes and lets his head fall back against finn's shoulder. ]
( yuri is just so nice. instead of going off and dancing with someone he could probably be kissing later, he chooses to stay with finn. he's in the middle of an 'oh, you don't have to' when their positions begin to change.
finn isn't quite stiff in his posture when that happens, but he doesn't exactly ease into it either. his grip loosens to let yuri twist around before large palms come back to settle on his hips again. when the dancing begins again, he follows him gracelessly, plodding about. even if he says he's good right here, finn suspects the other guy is probably a better dancer than he is.
if he'd left, finn could have gone and had a perfectly nice time sitting with bren and ry, but it's also nice being wanted out here. )
[ he loses himself for a bit. with his eyes closed it's easy for yuri to forget he's standing here, swaying with finn for a stranger's jealous gaze. his hand shifts, pushes up into finn's hair to hold him as his hips find the rhythm of the song that's pumping through the speakers.
his eyes open, slowly, and when he turns his gaze he's met with the underside of finn's jaw. it'd be so easy, he thinks, to just lean up and press his lips right along the curve--
and then finn speaks and the spell breaks. yuri lets out a quiet laugh and turns back around in finn's arms again so that he can lean up and press a smooch to his cheek.

( the longer they stand there ( or well ... dance there, though yuri seems to be doing all the work while finn bumbles along after him ), the more finn begins to feel truly comfortable. even if it's at the expense of this random guy who thought he might attract his friend's attention.
the kiss to his cheek has finn ducking his head and smiling, dimples on full display now. he can hear neon whooping across the room before downing shots with jasper. the music has begun to pick up the pace as more patrons filter into the lounge and he decides that maybe he does need a little break of his own. )
Okay, I'll go with you. Did you want to get another yuzu or get a chocolate one? ( he sweetly reaches behind his neck to take yuri's hand between both of his, initiating it this time around. )
[ yuri beams as finn takes his hand this time. he knows, deep down, that there isn't any thought behind the action. there's nothing there motivating finn outside of being a genuine sort of guy, but yuri is going to hold on to the delusion that maybe he's broken through a few barriers tonight and is starting to get to the gooey center that will motivate finn to shove his tongue down his throat.

he makes his way back to their sequestered sitting area where he instantly and briefly strikes up a conversation with bren to say hello and double-check his siren-sitting dates for the coming weekends when bren and ry are busy. ( the pickles care is implied but it's really siren who needs finn's attention. ) instead of the bench he had been squeezed into, finn has upgraded to a little settee with more than enough room for yuri to join him. )
[ yuri drops finn's hand to split off to the bar instead, deciding he'd rather just get his drink and go sit back down with it rather than wait. the guy from before eyes him from across the bar and yuri simply shakes his head at him and shrugs. another time, another place, maybe.
he changes his mind halfway through ordering and decides on a daiquiri instead. finn will like it, he thinks, and he'll take a longer time to drink it, too. the last thing he wants to do is give himself brain freeze.
yuri returns to their corner in the middle of the petsitting conversation, frozen pink deliciousness in his hand, and he settles back in next to finn with a happy little sigh. he glances away from the pointed, questioning gaze that ry sends his way and takes a sip of his drink. ]
Here, decided to go with a daiquiri instead. Still strawberry. Sip?
( finn is in the middle of listening to bren talk about his future pet furniture plans when yuri returns. he instantly perks up when he joins them in their corner, eyes wide at the change in drink. )

( he needlessly gestures between his shirt and yuri's hair, still excited. his phone beeps and he finally opens it to check the time, making a disappointed noise. )
I can't stay for too much longer, but I'm glad you invited me, ( finn adds with a slump of his shoulders. ) I have to get up a little early tomorrow.
( "yeah, because you hogged him all night," bren complains, but that only makes finn laugh. )
I had fun too! I have a little bit of time left with you, but I - I just have to catch a bus home soon. ( he pats yuri's knee affectionately before pulling away. )
